Pillars of the Community

Opening 1 November 2008, Pillars of the Community, features artists who have donated their work which will be on display for the month of November at Victoria Arts Connection, #110 - 2750 Quadra St. The art were auctioned off in conjunction with World AIDS Day, 29 November at 7 pm.

November 29, we held our art show and auction at Victoria Arts Connection. VARCS would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to Lisa Mellet, the owner and director of the gallery. We also thank Phoebe, Michael and all the staff who were so helpful and generous with the beautiful space and allowing the art to be on display for the entire month of November. VARCS also thanks the many artists who contributed unique and amazing pieces, they were fabulous! VARCS was fortunate enough to have the support and donation of time from Jim Woolford, who is an experienced auctioneer and really helped us out! And finally, we are very grateful to all of the people who supported the show, came to the show and purchased artwork, thanks so much! I also cannot end this section without a special thanks to Barb C., our Coordinator at VARCS. Barb spent a lot of time over the months organizing this event which was quite a large scale event for us, Barb did a terrific job! So, start thinking about submitting a piece for next year!
